Weather app · Android / iOS
Atmo
Read today's sky in one long shadow.
Pick a weather and a time of day to change the sky.
The sky fills the screen and changes with the weather and the hour. The temperature is drawn on that sky and casts one long shadow.
Motion and design
Every screen in Atmo sits under the same sky. Light comes from the upper left and shadows fall at 35° to the lower right, so when you change pages the numbers and cards travel with your finger and take their long shadows along.
-
A small sundial turns once, the sky opens out from the sun, and the temperature rises from below as its shadow grows, with the hour card sliding up last.
-
Scroll up and the big temperature tucks into the top bar while the details rise like a sheet of paper and the top bar turns to frosted glass.
-
The four pages in the dock sit in order, so a new page slides in from the side you tapped and the selected pill is pulled across on a spring.
-
Fourteen kinds of weather and four times of day each have their own colours; the sun travels along an arc and gives way to the moon and stars, while every shadow keeps its direction.
-
Turn the phone sideways and it becomes a weather clock; on the hour the digits drop and rise one by one while a band of light sweeps in from the upper left.
The B3 long-shadow design system
Long shadow
Light from the upper left, shadows at 35° to the lower right, solid and never blurred.
Colour
Marigold, plum, cream, night blue and sun gold.
Type
LK Sans in four weights, with the temperature drawn in Light.
Curves
Pages move on the B3 ease; buttons and the dock move on springs.
The sky
Temperature, drawn on the sky.
Fourteen kinds of weather across dawn, day, dusk and night, with the time of day set by the sun's height. On rainy days the drops hit the numbers; on snowy days snow settles on top of them.
Weather clock
Turn it sideways: a weather clock.
Hold your phone sideways and the home screen becomes a full-screen clock. The background can be the live sky, marigold, or pure black for OLED. Hourly animation, burn-in care and keep-screen-on are built in.
Official data
Official data, in official colours.
Places in Japan use Japan Meteorological Agency data only, and warnings keep JMA's own colours and levels. Elsewhere, forecasts come from MET Norway and official national warnings via the WMO Severe Weather Information Centre (SWIC). Rain radar and earthquake information work for places in Japan.
No warning on screen does not mean there is no risk. Atmo can only show what each national agency publishes.
Example
Widgets
A long shadow on your home screen, too.
Hourly weather (4×2), a transparent clock with weather (4×2), and current weather (2×2), all made of the same sky and long shadow.
Privacy
No account. No ads.
No tracking SDKs either. Your location's coordinates are used only on the phone to pick a place, and never sent. Settings stay out of system backups.

Fourteen languages, on phones, foldables and tablets.
Wide screens get a two-column layout. Japanese, Simplified Chinese and English have been checked by people; for the other languages, we'd love corrections from native speakers.
